Waking up with the Gulls

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Hampton Beach, NH
Time: 6:08 am

Driving towards the beach, looking at what lies ahead of me, and knowing it's going to be a glorious sunrise

Arriving just in time with my suspicions confirmed. The Gulls were taking flight, ready to start a new day of scavenging.

6:15 am

Can you think of a better view to wake up to as a bird? Or even as a person. Oh yeah, that's the good stuff.

6:27 am . . . and rising

A mirrored reflection to another sunrise. Do you think they have shades?

The surf has so many textures and colors as the sun rises. From deep pinks and purples to radiant golds and browns.

There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope

Definitely worth getting up early for! So it's true! The early bird DOES get the worm! The worm being wonderful pictures, that is!

What beautiful photos of a coastal sunrise. When I first saw your banner photo I thought it was St. Andrews-by-the-Sea in New Brunswick :-) Thanks for getting up so early in the morning to snap them.

Beautiful! I recently discovered sunrises when I switched to working night shifts and get off at sunrise. They are amazing and honestly I think a tad bit better than sunsets!

Oh Sharon ~ what unbelievably gorgeous pictures. I can't even imagin how beautiful it must have been in person. You captured it magnificently!!!! Wish I was there to enjoy the sunrise with you instead of sitting here at my desk at work. Will you teach me how to use textures on my pictures?

It's glorious! I love the sunrise over the water - lucky and lucky me to live close enough to indulge the need to watch such a sight.

I don't know how you do it, but your beautiful pictures take me back to some of the exquisite feelings I had as a child. I really wish someone would publish a coffee table book of your photographs.

Oh what glorious pictures! You really are an artist. And I love the quote you have included. The textures of your pictures is magnificent. I can only imagine how beautiful it must have been in person.
I have been so busy and have also had the blogging blahs. I finally posted today after two weeks of not doing so. I guess it happens to all of us.
Thank you again for showing these beautiful pictures. There is no doubt about it, you are an artist!

You are so lucky to have the ocean within driving distance!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! My favourite photo is the gull at 6:30 - the colours are so soft, and the pose is just perfect!
