Memories of winter in black and white

It's a winter wonderland outside. Granted the snow isn't deep but there's just enough to give the landscape a magical black and white appearance.

Today my husband and I will be going back over to my parents house to help them with their new computer. After many years of trying to get them online they finally broke down and decided to go high tech. LOL! It's a bit of a challenge but I know they'll get the hang of it. I always forget how much work it is just to set the computer and homepage up, trying to customize everything, give them some bookmarks and an email address. Baby steps is what it is, just like it was for all of us.

Wishing you a fabulous Sunday! As my husband would say, "Go Patriots!"

My parents got their computer around the same age as yours are now. They are fine until something goes wrong and then panic sets in!

These are exquisite. Love the little bit of blue in the last one.

Incredibly beautiful, Sharon. Our trees don't have the snow on them like yours do. And, unfortunately, I won't be going anywhere too soon. Our driveway has frozen over and is a sheet of ice. I should have gone up and down it several times yesterday when I had the chance. Bad move. Bad.

Those photos are like something out of a dream. So peaceful. So beautiful. I really really miss the snow and the true simple beauty of winter time. Sigh...

And I'm with your husband...GO PATS!!!

Those pictures are very magical looking! The first one is my favorite. All you need is a little snow to get the winter wonderland effect!
My husband is happy about the Patriots too. :)

I am so happy to finally have some snow!! It is so beautiful and for me calming. I wish now that I had gotten out to take more photos of it but preparing for a Patriots Game fest at our house took precedence I'm afraid. Having the Patriots win and then having a perfectly good Downtown Abbey episode made for a delightful day:)

Simply beautiful! I love pictures of snow scenes because I can enjoy them without having to get cold. Thanks.

Sharon, I'm completely captivated by these images, especially the first one. A quintessential snow scene – beautiful!

Snow is notoriously difficult to make look good but you've got the contrast just right.

Wishing you a cozy week ahead! Our snow is mostly gone – we were snowbound for three days and have had several power outages so I'm just as glad it's done. :)

I love your snow scenes. I wanted to wait until the sun came out and guess what it rained and now there is nothing left.
Congrats to your parents for wanting to get online. I'm sure if my parents were still alive they would have nothing to do with it....well maybe my mom.
Yes I remember how difficult it was for me learning the computer. I would sit in front of it crying:) seems so silly now.

hugs
Carole

Such a Yutz I am! I was reviewing blogs and wondered where you were... until I reread the last entry on A New England life and found I had forgotten to tap on the link and hit follow. It is so good to simply see pictures of my New England. I'm a Connecticut Yankee who has summered in New Hampshire and Cape Cod, with frequent daytrips to the Berkshires all my life. BEAUTIFUL pictures. Now I have to catch up.

Great photos! If had to pick a favorite - probably the first one.
Your parents will probably love the computer once they get started.

Absolutely lovely images! Very atmospheric. I wish it looked like that here but we haven't had much snow yet.

These are gorgeous photos!!! Your blog is just lovely.
Oh I smiled when you mentioned helping your parents go high-tech, because I continually have to walk my mother through the process of getting to my blog :)

Love your B & W pics. Wishing for some snow before winter ends. It's been a mild winter. (not that I'm complaining)

Oh my it does look wintry doesn't it? I have to admit I kind of miss the white stuff and an invigorating chill would be nice every once and a while.

My Dad is 86 and quite computer savvy. He plays games on the computer, keeps in touch with his friends and emails photos.

I am sure your parents will love their new toy in no time.
