Into the blue

If you've been around my blogging long enough then you know I love time spent by the ocean. It always brings me a great sense of calm. The waves, the gulls, the endless views ... for a moment in time I can feel completely weightless of all the daily burdens.

Maybe just for a moment you can feel that way too

This has been such a delightful February, weather wise. And though snow was predicted yesterday it didn't materialize. Instead, last night as I lie in bed, for the first time in months I fell asleep to the sound of rain beating on the windows. It was a welcome sound making me think of peepers. But the peepers song is at least a month away.

I know I'm not supposed to love the gulls ... but I do

And the dogs, because no beach is truly complete without a dog

Do anything, but let it produce joy

~ Walt Whitman

I thought I'd add a little mosaic of a few Instagram images from the past couple weeks. I'll be linking up with Mary for Mosaic Monday

Are you doing anything special this Sunday?

Right there, in those photos, is exactly where I'd love to be.

I love your beautiful photos here, Sharon. I get my beach fix through you, you know.

Today was spent hanging out with two girlfriends who spent the weekend. It was so nice outside. Little bit chilly, but super nice in the sun.

I could hear the gulls screeching and the waves breaking. What a welcome sight! Wonderful photos...and I love the black and white.

Beautiful! The beach is just a special place for all of us. The pull of the water, the sound. I like gulls, too! Have a joy filled week!

So pretty ~ so envious. Haven't seen the water in a couple years and I miss it. Bad part of living so far inland. Have to make a point to get to Lake Erie this summer ~ it looks very much like the ocean, or at least it comes pretty close. None the less, it still holds all the charm and serenity that the ocean does.
Can't believe you haven't heard the rain on the windows for a long time. We've had almost nothing but rain this winter. Have you not gotten any rain or was it just in the form of snow?

Beautiful photos. I love the gulls wheeling over the water. They might not be the most loved birds, but the beach would not be the same without them.

My mom and brother live up in your part of the country and your pictures make me feel homesick for them. My beach is further south on Long Island but doesn't have that wild rocky romantic coast that New Engand does. Thanks for sharing these lovely shots. They brighten a cloudy Monday.
