XoXo

Last night while checking out the at the grocery store, the girl who was bagging my groceries asked me if I was a Valentine or a Black Heart. I said, 'Excuse me?'

Apparently people are now having Black Heart parties for their single friends. Did you know that?

When the girl told me she was a Black Heart I told her she should be a Valentine as there is always plenty of Love to go around. She was probably thinking 'Yeah, right. This woman's a nut!' Ha!!

One of the wonderful reasons I Love Valentines Day is that the tide of seasons is beginning to change. We can feel Winter wane as Spring begins to push in with longer days and warmer temperatures. This year it definitely feels like Spring is knocking down Winters door! It's saying, ready or not here I come!

As I type this post the Cardinal is singing his song, the Bluebirds are eating Zick Dough, we have several American Goldfinches, and small flocks of Robins are beginning to arrive. I wouldn't be surprised to see the local Sugar Shack set up this week to start getting ready for business, but that remains to be seen.

The Rose speaks of love silently
In a language known only to the heart

A little Instagram Love made from the Red Stamp app and then edited with the Squaready app. I LOVE Instagram <3

And if you were my older daughters boyfriend . . .

. . . this would be your Valentine. Screws, wire, nails, staples and all the rest. Love comes in all different forms ; )

Yes, sometimes Love can be a little scary.

Yes, love sometimes appears scary on the outside, but we all know it's the inside that counts. Lovely photos, Sharon... Happy Valentine's Day!!

Well, I learned something new from you today, Sharon. I've never heard of Black Heart parties, and I surely have never seen a valentine like the last picture! I think most love between teenagers is a little scary!

That is a scary Valentine. I've never seen the likes before. I have heard of black Valentine somewhere though. Your roses are beautiful. It was -26 celsius here this morning but it warmed up to -5 this afternoon and felt like spring. The sun sure makes a difference doesn't it? In another month I'll believe it might be spring soon here. lol Pamela

Your photography is truly beautiful. I think these particular photos really speak to the meaning of the day. No black hearts here.

Hi Sharon! Well, I was always a "Valentine" even when single for many years because I'm an incurable romantic. Black hearts? Sounds like a pity party to me. :)

Gorgeous photos – even the paper on the roses is sweet and charming. Thanks so much for stopping by – hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day yourself. And yes, spring is around the corner! xo

I really like those pictures of the roses and the book. How lovely!

Spring is definitely in the air! I noticed yesterday at 5:30 p.m. that it was still pretty light out and was pleasantly surprised. There's also a nice mildness in the air. This has been a very manageable winter!

Beautiful roses!!

The Valentine is a bit edgy for me, but it sure does show creativity and, I'll bet he appreciated it more than hearts & flowers.
