Welcoming back the colors of spring!

No Easter eggs here today. Instead I bring you color of a different sort.

All these images were shot this week during a walk in, and around, Strawbery Banke, Portsmouth, NH

Today we'll be having dinner with my in-laws. I'm sure there will be plenty of good food and good conversation.

The weather is expected to be nice for the next several days but we sure could use the rain! Yesterday I actually went out and watered the garden. In April that's unheard of! After a winter of almost no snow, and a spring with little precipitation, we are under a high fire warning. When I noticed the buds and flowers falling off the double-flowering Cherry tree I knew something wasn't right. Sure enough the ground sucked the water up like a sponge.

Tuesday morning I'm going in for an MRI for my lower back and possible bulging disc. It's been bothering me since the beginning of last September. Twice now I've had physical therapy but so far it hasn't helped much. Has anyone else every had a semi-open MRI? I just wasn't up for being put in a tube!

Because of my back I can only sit at the computer for so long, so I aplogize for not responding to your comments or visiting your blogs more often. The more I sit the worse my back feels.

I hope your Easter is filled with springtime joy and color!

Oh, Sharon ~
That last photo is just breathtaking. They are all beautiful!
Yeah, MRI's are no fun but semi would be much nicer. My husband goes all the way into the tube, with and without gad (contrast), which makes it longer, every two months. This probably contributes to his cheerfulness.

Boy do I know how you feel. I have two bulging discs myself. The only thing that helped me was exercises from a book I took out of the library. Robin Mckenzie is a physical therapist in Australia and has developed these exercises that worked like a miracle for me. Go on line and check him out!!!

Such lovely blooms! I love the last photo. We don't really have many blooms here. In fact, we are suppose to have a chance of snow every night this coming week. Bah...

Thanks for sharing these lovely photos!

Hi Sharon...
Sorry to hear about the back problem. Hope they can pinpoint the exact problem through the MRI. I had one once and had to be tranqilized first. I'm terribly claustrophobic.

My knee is bothering me and I'll see this month with an orthopedic doc if its arthritis. Brother.

Take care. My Easter was great. Hope yours was too. Susan

Sorry to hear about your back, as one who has chronic back pain I can sympathise with you greatly.

Your photo's are a delight today as always, thank you. Your blog reinforces one of my "Bucket List Dreams" to live in New England for at least a year, to experience the four seasons there rather than just the Fall which I love.

Hope all goes well with MRI and they find the answer for you. Thank you for taking the time to share you photo's.

gorgeous flowers on those shots! Yes, I have had a closed MRI and it was when I had back problems..the trick is to SHUt your eyes and keep them closed. They will put earphones on you to listen to music and blow air around you so you don't feel keep your eyes closed and meditate during it if you can and it will go quicker. The hard part for me was not moving as my back was killing me. It helps to take Tylenol or Aleve before you go. I had a laminectomy over 20 years ago, it helped but some of the pain has returned now...but nearly as bad as before my surgery.

You have captured spring so beautifully - I can feel the wonder of it! So sorry about your back - I have been battling back issues since my accident in Feb (they mentioned disk also -so let me know how it all goes). I have been in a semi open MRI & it didn't bother me. Wishes for a speedy recovery. ♥

Hi Sharon. So sorry you've not been feeling so great. I'm in 2x/week physical therapy right now myself for a rotator cuff injury. No fun.

Baby is all fur! She's under 9 lbs. and just LOOKS big! haha

Enjoy this summer weekend, if you can! I hope you're feeling better soon!... Donna
